“Which kart is right for me?” Formula K replies with its own purchasing advice
The range of karts manufactured by Formula K, a brand headed by IPKarting and KZ 2020 World Champion, is designed to satisfy every need, from racing to rental and from the youngest to the most experienced drivers. High quality, high performance, reliability and great adaptability to all drivers are just some of the characteristics of Formula K products that follow the IPKarting production philosophy. That is, high precision of processing and manual tube welding, carried out by highly specialised operators using machinery that allows total control over welding quality.
The Baby class is aimed at children aged 6 to 9 who are starting in the racing world for the first time. The Formula K DELFINO is available for this age group, a kart with a chassis entirely made of 28 mm tubes and a mechanical rear braking system with a 155 mm disc. The steering wheel has a diameter of 320 mm to reduce effort when steering. Both the footrest and seat are adjustable to accommodate drivers of different heights. The BABY chassis mounts a Honda GX35 or 140F engine and weighs 43 kg in all.
MINI, ROTAX MINI, MICRO MAX classes
One of the most competitive classes in the racing world, MINI is aimed at drivers between the ages of 9 and 13. For this class Formula K has reserved the Monster EVO 3 model. Developed based on the experience of the official racing team, this chassis is made of 28 mm tubes and is fitted with the MKB-V2 CIK-FIA approved hydraulic braking system. The steering wheel has a diameter of 330 mm and is the M5 R model produced by KG. The Formula K EVO 30 is a chassis made of 30 mm tubes. It has a pitch of 1050 mm.
The Formula K EVO 32 is a chassis made of 32 mm tubes and a different geometry than the EVO30 model. It has a pitch of 1050 mm.
The Formula K Dark, without CIK-FIA approval, is the entry level version of the chassis dedicated to the senior and junior single-speed classes. It is made of 30 mm tubes and features a hydraulic braking system with a 195 mm floating and self-ventilating disc. It has 5 F6 model seat sizes, 320 mm FASTER steering wheel and KG 506 CIK-FIA approved fairings.
In regard to the rental line, Formula K has two big families available: Race Line and RTK.
The Race Line is composed of rental karts, but with a racing soul. The chassis has a clear racing derivation with 32 mm tubes and a racing braking system with a 195 mm self-ventilating disc. The LaRace Line consists in 3 distinct karts:
Race Line Light e Race Line Electric
Weighing just 119 kg (145 kg for the electric version) it is one of the lightest rental karts on the market. It has perimeter guards and the possibility of mounting roll-bars with belts for a high level of safety. Adjustable seat and pedals make it easy to adapt to drivers of different heights. Also, maintenance is even easier thanks to the possibility of being able to change the tyres without having to remove the perimeter guards while the fairings are dismantled by removing a few convenient clips. The petrol version mounts a Tillotson 350 engine while the electric version mounts an engine that reaches 19 hp.
Race Line Light MINI
The MINI version is designed for smaller drivers. It maintains the same racing soul of the adult versions and is made up of 28 mm tubes. It can be equipped with Honda GX160 or Tillotson 212 engines.
The RTK family is composed of classic rental karts that are robust, safe and easy to maintain. The safety compartment has a safety belt and roll-bar system, double front shock absorption system and a modular bumper system to allow you to replace only the damaged parts without having to change the entire perimeter fairing. There are three models in this family, all with 33 mm tubes:
Available with Honda GX200/GX270/GX390 engines.
Version dedicated to the youngest drivers and powered by a Honda GX120 or GX160.
RTK DOUBLE SEATER
Two-seater version available with Honda GX200/GX270/GX390 engines.
